Tucked away in an industrial section of Santa Fe is a cluttered workshop redolent with the smell of wood chips. There, one of the Southwest's great woodcarvers works his magic. An acknowledged master, Gonzales is the nephew of the famous post-World War II Taos carver, Elidio Gonzales, and has carried on the Northern New Mexico traditions in his handsome doors, architectural details, and one-of-a-kind furniture creations.
