Nearly thirty years ago, upon retiring as a dancer with the New York City Ballet, Jacques d'Amboise established the National Dance Institute. He credits the arts for steering him away from the streets and toward a successful international career as a ballet dancer. His vision resulted in NDI programs in New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, California, Vermont, Missouri, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and, of course, New Mexico.
